Hitting the streets of Hong Kong

The flight to Hong Kong was smooth sailing and as soon as we cleared customs we were sitting aboard the Airport Express subway heading toward Kong Kong Island.  This was our very first view of Hong Kong from ground level and we knew we were in for a treat!

About 25 minutes later, we switched trains at Central Station and boarded a very different subway train to make our way to the hotel.  There were a few more people crammed into this second subway!

After checking into our hotel in the Tsim Sha Tsui district we spent a few hours exploring the city at street level.  We ended up spending a fair amount of time along the water at Victoria Harbour.  Avenue of the Stars winds it's way along the waterfront and as the sun goes down the lights come up on the many, many buildings that line both shores of this harbour that's bustling with activity.

After a harbour tour boat cruise, Jonathan and I dropped Jennifer and the girls off at our hotel and made our way to the Temple Street Night Market.  An amazing experience to take in with everything imaginable on sale with very few posted prices.  While I spent very little money, I wheeled and dealed and could have bought many items at half the price that was first offered.  Hoping to take Jennifer and the girls there tonight so that they can find themselves some gifts as mementos of our quick trip to Hong Kong.

We're just waking up to our only full day in Hong Kong so we're gonna get started!

Thanks for following along,
Andy
